Part of the “Great Book” series put out by Ten Speed Press, (all are tall and rectangular soft covers) on a variety of food and drink subjects (see our review of the Great Margarita Book), this one covers Tiki Drinks. It has a brief history and definitions section and a number of good recipes for Tiki drinks (about 30) and food (20).

It has some bartending tips and techniques and has some photos and illustrations of the drinks – some in some interesting vintage pieces. It also has a list of suppliers for some of the harder to find ingredients and accoutrements in the back.

Although it does not list the Archie McPhee company (some of their products are reviewed in our Bar Tools Section) which has all the little drinks accents that can make or break a good Tiki drink presentation.

Paper stock is relatively resistant to spills, smear and the usual abuse a bar and cookbook undergoes (thoughtful touch, there). A good book for the Tiki novice to get started with or for the more advanced Tiki practitioner looking for new or variations on recipes.
